The Turkish benchmark index closed at 1,452.18 points on Monday, up 0.02% from the previous close.
From the day at 1,453.69 points, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index rose 0.34 points from 1,451.84 points at the close of trading on Friday.
The total market value of the BIST 100 was just over 1 trillion Turkish Lira (USD 119.2 billion) at the close of the market with a daily trading volume of 15.2 billion Turkish Lira (2.20 billion USD).
During Monday’s trading, the BIST 100 hovered between 1,441.70 and 1,457.77 points, with 28 stocks in the index rising, 66 falling, and six flat from the previous close.
The highest trading volumes were recorded by the private lender Garanti BBVA, the iron steel producer Eregli Demir Celik and the iron producer Kardemir.
The shares of the well-known sports club Fenerbahce (FENER) performed the best with a plus of 6.49%, while Tukas, a company in the food industry, fell the most with 4.17%.
The price of an ounce of gold at market close was $ 1,879.60, down from $ 1,884.70 at the previous close according to Borsa Istanbul’s Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.
Brent crude was priced at $ 67.90 per barrel as of 6:10 p.m. local time (1510 GMT).
