Starting June 12, Lebanon Transit’s (LT) Shared Ride program will extend its Saturday service to the borders of Lebanon County.
The Shared Ride program is a curb-to-curb service that requires registration that takes Lebanese residents to specific desired addresses in the county rather than setting stops. Customers must call in advance to arrange their pick-up times.
The Shared Ride County Service is open from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The operating times are longer for the service within the city of Lebanon.
The service can be used for any reason. “Customers can go shopping, visit family and friends, run errands, come to doctor’s appointments, the goal is yours,” said an LT press release.
While the Shared Ride service is open to everyone, there are discounts for people with disabilities (PWD) and seniors, with the senior rate $ 2.50 and the PWD service (pdf) $ 3.00 for less than 5 miles and 4 .00 USD for more than 5 miles.
The LT Shared Ride non-discounted rate is US $ 19.00 for less than 5 miles, US $ 22.00 for 5 to 10 miles, and US $ 26.00 for more than 10 miles. Further information on LT tariffs can be found here.
To sign up for the Shared Ride program, visit the Lebanon Transit office (200 Willow St.) or call (717) 274-3664. Photo ID is required for registration.
