VHSL CLASS 2 BASEBALL / SOFTBALL: Lebanon two victories away from state titles | Sports news

As has been the case throughout the season, when their games are over, softball and baseball players will want to know the outcome of the competition their peers are participating in.

“We usually play the same day and around the same time, so we can’t watch them play,” said Haley Finney, the Lebanese softball team’s catcher. “There were times when the boys didn’t have a game and came to support us and that meant a lot to us girls. When we finish a game early, we try to go over and see the rest of their games.

“The baseball team is very talented and I and the other girls enjoy watching them play. … Both teams love to support each other. “

Both teams dominated class 2 last season of the school. The Pioneers will compete in Class 1 and in the Hogoheegee District in the school year 2021/22.

Matthew Buchanan, Seth Buchanan, Preston Steele and Dagan Barton have formed a lockdown pitching team on the baseball field. These four guys along with Anthony Houchins, Hunter Hertig and Zach Hertig can also strike as the Pioneers have the runs stacked.

Adrienne Morrison and Alivia Nolley have positioned themselves well for the softball roster, with Maggie Lampkin, Tatum Dye and others helping to create a powerful line-up that has amassed the runs. Seven of the team’s 13 players are seniors.
