More than 300 Iraqis from Baghdad, Mosul, Al-Anbar, Babel, Salahuddin and Diyala called on Iraq on Friday to normalize relations with Israel through the Abraham Agreement, Israeli media reported.
Corresponding Ynet news, Sunni and Shiite community leaders have urged Iraq to join the Abrahamic Accords and establish diplomatic relations with Israel.
Israeli Channel 12 reports that the chief of the largest Arab tribe in the Middle East and former generals of the Iraqi army have called for the normalization of relations with Israel.
According to Israeli television, Chemi Peres, son of the late Israeli President and Prime Minister Shimon Peres, attended the press conference at which Iraqi leaders called for relations to normalize.

During the conference, which was backed by Kurdish forces and celebrated by the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Peres spoke in Hebrew about the need for peace.
Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid was reported by Ynet news The event: “Arouses hope for places we did not think of before.”
He also affirmed, “We and Iraq share a common history and common roots in the Jewish community, and whenever anyone reaches out to us we will do all we can to come back.”
