Iran supports stability in Kazakhstan, warns of foreign interference in region


In a telephone conversation with his Kazakh counterpart Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on Wednesday, Raisi warned that any foreign interference would disrupt stability in the region.

He said Iran attaches importance to the security, stability and peace of the friendly and fraternal country of Kazakhstan, adding, “We support the establishment of peace and stability in the region.”

Referring to a recent meeting with Tokayev on the sidelines of the Shanghai summit in Tajikistan, Raisi said: “As I stressed during this meeting, the current level of bilateral economic and trade ties and cooperation does not match the level of political ties, and I hope so.” that in the thirtieth year of diplomatic relations between the two countries, we will take a big step towards improving the level of economic interaction.”

For his part, Tokayev thanked Iran for its support for the region’s independence, saying: “In the 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the two countries have been able to achieve a desirable level of close and friendly relations with each other. I am sure that the future of bilateral relations.” will be very fruitful and bright.”

The Kazakh president also said that growing ties with Iran, especially in the area of ​​economic and trade cooperation, are very important to him, the Iranian president‘s official website reported.

Tokayev expressed hope that the forthcoming meeting of the Joint Economic Cooperation Commission and mutual visits would make a big leap in Nur-Sultan-Tehran relations.
