WASHINGTON, April 26 (Reuters).

The White House is concerned that Iran could develop a nuclear weapon within weeks, Press Secretary Jen Psaki said Tuesday after Secretary of State Antony Blinken noted earlier in the day that the country was accelerating its nuclear program.

“Yeah, it definitely worries us,” Psaki said.

The White House clarified Wednesday that while Psaki answered a question about nuclear weapons, he was referring to breakout time, which is the time it would take to obtain enough fissile material for a nuclear bomb, not to the production of a real nuclear weapon.
